At De Leeuwenhof Estate, we have a beloved group of four-legged companions who add warmth and character to our property. Each of our dogs has a unique story of rescue and recovery, reflecting the compassionate spirit of the Van Leeuwen Boomkamp family.
A Legacy of Compassion
South Africa faces significant challenges with street dogs, homeless animals, and neglect. Many of our furry friends come from backgrounds that highlight these issues. However, the love and dedication of our family have led us to open our hearts and home to these animals in need. Our commitment to rescuing and caring for them is a testament to our deep-seated passion for animal welfare.
Each Dog’s Unique Story
Every dog at De Leeuwenhof Estate has a story of their own—a tale of how they came to be part of our family. Whether they were found wandering the streets, rescued from neglectful situations, or brought to us in need of medical care, each one has found a loving home with us. Living Their Best Lives
While our dogs may have once faced hardship, they now enjoy their golden years surrounded by love and care. Currently, about 90% of our canine companions are older and frail, but they are cherished members of our family. They are content and spoiled, living out their days in comfort and peace. Guests at De Leeuwenhof need not worry about any disturbance—our senior dogs are gentle and serene, perfectly content in their surroundings.
