Proud owners of De Leeuwenhof and your hosts.
On the 1st of October we welcomed the first real warm days, young owls and lots of other young birds and all flowers in bloom.
The first guests , who were looking for blooming nature and good food and wine, arrived and all seem to be happy with all improvements made by us over the winter and spring period.
We even got an opportunity as a young and dynamic student from the university asked to join our management team for an internship and after some talks with the dean of the university all was agreed and we now also have a learning program for students in the hospitality business in place.
We asked Edwinah to write some lines as a welcome and introduction to herself, which we print hereby.

Preparations are made to gear up for the new season and we cannot wait for spring to start.
So far we had great guests, fantastic weather with even a heat wave of 45-plus and a great atmosphere.
Recently we have moved up to the top 3 hotels/guesthouses in Paarl, as rated by some of our guests done on s"worlds biggest rating site WWW.tripadvisor.com and
Secondly we were rewarded again with 4-stars by the Tourism grading Counsel of South Africa in the guesthouse category for 2012 and it now seems our efforts are falling into place.
We must say thank you to all our friends and wonderful guests, who took the time to write down their appreciation and positive experiences, for others to read and decide and to give us the positive stimulus to improve and expand.

Temperatures are rising and everything is in Bloom, birds are nesting and young animals are all around.
Our winter season has started, with a nice rainy day (40mm) and snow on the mountain.
The washing, the bedding, the flowers and gardens, the pool-cleaning, the breakfast and the washing up of the dishes, the little things like a flower on your cushion or the room pre-heated or cooled, it is our staff who make your stay a pleasant one, so that is why we introduce them to you via our blog.
As many dutch people have left their home country does that make them all anti-patriotic ? Keep on dreaming!
The beautiful old dutch oak trees need trimming and repairs
Why choose a bed and breakfast or guesthouse like "de Leeuwenhof" over a hotel?

We look forward in meeting all friends and other guests who visited us before and we also welcome many new arrivals.
We had our web-site redesigned and launched on the 9th of november by martle Heyns and we think she did a great job.
Yvonne and I (Daan ) love our life on “de leeuwenhof” as we still “grow” into South Africa and more specific into the guesthouse business.
